Day 1 (part 2)

Not even noon, and a second post. Definitely a lot of time. So far I’ve only hit the hills, and didn’t last as long as I wanted. Seriously out of shape. May try again later today. Good news though, I already have been asked to meet for interview. Now just need to setup a where/when. Unfortunately it will not be until August, but it is through the gentleman C and I sat next to on our flight down to the islands. What kind of luck to be laid off one day, then sit on a plane next to the cofounder of a company in your field that works primarily where you’re significant other is moving to. This definitely has me in a good mood. Time to go figure out the laundry, figure out if there’s free wifi anywhere around here.

Day 1 (fiancé working)

So I woke up with C (the fiancé), and made her breakfast before she ran off to her first day of work. She was a bit nervous about riding the bus to work today, because she hasn’t done it by herself, but I assured her she’d be fine as we supposedly live in a community with a lot of her coworkers. With her out the door, I emailed my weightlifting guru friend for some suggestions on how to stay strong without having access to a weight room. Hopefully I will hear back from him later today, and will slowly drink my coffee and clean up the apartment to avoid going outside. I’m probably going to regret not getting a move on running now, because its only going to get hotter as the day goes on. Plan for the rest of the morning: work up courage to hit the hills, start the laundry, and find internet for job hunt and blog posting.

Articles of the Unemployed

With the girlfriend preparing to move from my favorite college town for the Caribbean, she decided to document it on a blog. While she moved in with me before her big move, she kept bugging me to suggested that I keep one as well to see how much will change with her upcoming move. I kept putting it off for one reason or another, mostly I was at work or helping her prepare for the move. Now, after a weekend in Canada spending way too much money, getting laid off, and moving my girlfriend, I am currently sitting on an island in the Caribbean, unemployed, engaged, and unsure the future with no ticket home.

So that’s a little background, and now that the fiancé is starting work, I am going to have a lot of time to job hunt both back home (I have a mortgage that needs to be paid) and in the islands (why leave paradise and a beautiful fiancé?), explore the island, hopefully get back in shape, and blog.
